Weekend of birthdays

Littlebit is now 2. Her princess party was fun. She enjoyed opening the presents, but was overwhelmed too. We bought her dishes and pots and I made her felt food to go with it. She received three books and a lot of things for her baby doll.

After a few difficulties her cake came out pretty good. I wanted to make the Build-a-Bear princess cake, but the cake didn't fill the pan all of the way, so the bear had really bad plumber's crack and half an eye on one side. So at 6:30 on Friday night, Lovey helped me bake 2 round cakes. I used fondant to make a princess crown and magic wands. I finished around 11 p.m. and was fairly pleased with the cake. While taking pictures, I did manage to put my hand in the side of the cake. After the party, only one slice was left.

My birthday was Sunday. Every year I ask for breakfast in bed, but I have yet to receive it. They did try this year, but I was already up. Lovey was adamant that I couldn't have breakfast in bed because it would make a mess. (I don't allow food or drinks upstairs.) I was in the office for awhile, but I could hear everyone downstairs, so I went to join them. As I rounded the corner, I heard Daddy tell Lovey to carry something very carefully, so I ran back to the stairs and sat down. They were bringing me breakfast in bed. I decided to join them at the table.

My only request for the day was to go the quilt shop by myself. They were having a draw your own sale and I drew 30% off (the highest)! Yippee for me! I bought some fabric and went to Thompsons, Target and Michaels. I even went to Starbucks by myself. I was out for three hours. This did cause of to be late to our friends and we missed the kick-off to the Super Bowl, but what a nice day.
