Gooey Butter Cake

YUM!!! That is all I have to say. I came across this recipe for Gooey Butter Cake and decided that I had to make. I considered waiting to make it for my birthday, but it seemed to call my name and I had to make it now and Littlebit was my willing helper.

The cake was so simple to make. I even made my own yellow cake using the recipe linked with it. My cream cheese was a little cold, so it didn't blend as smoothly as I would have liked, but you can't tell in the final result.

It is very sweet, so a small piece is all you need. Although it is really hard to stop at that one delicious piece! Yummy!!!

The crust.

With the topping and in the oven.
Cooling. Mmm. Can't wait to dig in!

Love this!

Littlebit spent the weekend at Nana's house over the long weekend. She was so excited and has been looking forward to this for months. On Saturday morning she woke up and said, "Is it tomorrow yet?" She could not wait to get to Nana's.

It sounds like she had a wonderful time. Nana spoiled her while she was there too. Littlebit came home with a lot of gifts. One of my favorite things was Crayola Disney Princess Mini Coloring Pages with Mini Markers. Littlebit loves it! Every time we get in the car, she brings it with her and spends the entire car ride coloring. She calls the pictures her photographs and it is all contained in its own box. It is so cute!

Littlebit had a wonderful time and can't wait to visit Nana again! Thank you Nana!

Gulp!

On a recent trip to Costco, we saw that they were demonstrating the Blend-Tec blender. I have been drooling over this blender and the Vitamix for quite sometime, but had a hard time spending $300 on a blender (or a vacuum - I really want a Miele Polaris, but that's another post). I stopped to listen to their spiel and enjoy some ice cream and a smoothie. Littlebit spilled both and carrot smoothie does not come out of white shirts. Argh!

Not to be one for spontaneous purchases (HA!) we went home and discussed it for the next few days. Finally I decided to just go for it and it was a good thing too because a few days after buying it, I knocked the old blender out of the cupboard and it shattered on the tile floor.

We have enjoyed smoothies and milkshakes the past few days. Big Daddy is all excited and made me buy Oreos from Trader Joes so we could make an oreo cookie milkshake. Our old blender made these things, but now everyone is inspired by it. Today I made the kids a smoothie with cranberry juice, fozen blueberries, and a banana - they said it was the best smoothie ever!

Imitation

The Scene: Littlebit and Lovey were sitting at the kitchen table eating a snack. Littlebit was sitting in my seat and Lovey was sitting in Big Daddy's.

Lovey: Look, we are the mommy and daddy.

Littlebit: Hi Daddy! How was your day?

Lovey: No, you have to call me by my real name.

Littlebit: Okay. Hey babe!
