2011

Wow! It seems that 2011 just flew by. It certainly brought many changes to my little family.

Loose teeth, baseball, soccer, and a road trip that involved 5 states, 3 national parks, 1 national monument and 1 historical site, made 2011 a very exciting year. I went back to teaching, which was an adjustment for everyone and meant less blogging for me. Lovey's reading has taken off (he flies through books) and Littlebit has been writing her letters like crazy.

I can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for us.

Looking Back at 2010

I can't believe that it is almost 2011. Here is a look back at all of the great things we did in 2010.

In February we flew to Texas to see my brother, sister-in-law, and my two sweet nephews! We had a lot of fun while there.

We took the kids sledding for the first time. It was so much fun, even though it was the longest trip ever because we went to the wrong side of the mountain.
We removed all of the flooring in our house. We put tile in the kitchen, laundry room, and bathrooms. We put wood laminate everywhere else. We still haven't finished painting the trim or putting the quarter round on the stairs. I do LOVE the heated floor in the kitchen and bathrooms. So nice, but it makes the wood feel that much colder. We need to buy some rugs.
Our dear friends came to visit from Montana. It was so nice to see them. We hadn't seen them in 6 months and that was the longest we had gone without seeing them...ever.
My brother and his family came to visit soon after that. What fun the kids had playing at the beach, in the swimming pool, and eating apple fritters and feeding the animals at the cider mill.
We officially became a diaper free house in 2010!!! Yippee!!! Although we still have more accidents than I like, I am so happy not to buy diapers anymore.

Littlebit also gave up her binkies! We put them in a Build-a-Bear, so they are always with her.

Lovey started 1st grade and going to school all day. Wow, I am totally blown away by his reading skills. He loves school. Littlebit started preschool two days a week. She was a little slow to warm up to it, but now loves it.

What an exciting year! Looking forward to 2011!

Welcome 2010!

We brought in the new year on east coast time this year. The kids watched a movie that finished just in time for the "new year". We wore our 2010 glasses that you can see an example of here. The next time we can make these glasses, Lovey will be 15 and Littlebit will be 12. Yikes! Not sure if I will be able to get the kids to wear them for another family picture at those ages.

Here's a recap of 2009:
Lovey started kindergarten.
Lovey started to read.
Very good family friends moved to Montana.
Friends from Alaska came to town to visit.
I had my 10 year college reunion.
Littlebit started swim lessons.
Littlebit moved into a big girl bed.
Littlebit started potty training.

At dinner on New Year's we all made goals for the year:
Lovey wants to lose a tooth, go camping, and go to school all day.
Littlebit wants to learn to ride her tricylcle and go to preschool.
Big Daddy wants to do STP and pass  the PE.
I want to finish up some classes I am taking and finish the 30 day fitness challenge.

We are looking forward to visiting my brother and sister-in-law and their family this year. Littlebit will start preschool in the fall and Lovey will go to school all day. Littlebit will be giving up her binkie after we get back from our trip. We are hoping to get new floors in our house and finish a patio project we started last year.

Goodbye 2008, Welcome 2009

With fondness, I look back on 2008.
Littlebit celebrated her 1st birthday, learned to walk, is trying to talk, went swimming for the first time, and had her first camping trip.
Lovey went fishing with Grandpa, started his second year of preschool, swam to the bottom of the pool, and learned he is allergic to grass (after having his eyes swell up) and cats.
I started working part time in the summer and started my third year of not teaching - I miss it. My husband studied for his PE test and celebrated the 1 year anniversary of his new job.
I organized a block party for my neighborhood this summer. Those that attended seemed to enjoy it and hopefully we will talk to each other more.

With anticipation, I look forward to 2009.
Lovey will start kindergarten which means school everyday.
Littlebit will get to be with me everyday. Hopefully Littlebit will start swimming lessons too.
Hoping my husband will pass the PE test.
I'm looking forward to my new nephew to be born in 2009 and possibly a trip to go see him.

Happy new year!
