My kids color a lot. There is a large stack of coloring books on their bookshelf and box of paper they can use. When I came across these Easter eggs on the Good Stuff Guide I knew they would be perfect for the kids.
I was right. It entertained them for hours. Seriously. They would color for an hour or two for a couple of days. Especially when I brought out two boxes of new markers!
And now we have beautiful eggs to decorate our house for Easter!

Hair Accessory Solution
I removed the glass from a frame. I added batting and fabric to the backing of the frame and stapled some ribbons to the back. I spent more time choosing the frame and fabric, than I did making this.
Littlebit loves it because now Lovey can't reach it.

Turtles
This week is T week at Lovey's school. Yesterday he told me he needed to bring a turtle to school on Wednesday. I didn't see anything about this on the note that comes home, but he was insistent. When I said that we didn't have a turtle, he said he wanted to make one. Using pipe cleaners and egg cartons, here is what he came up with.

Happy Spring!
You need 2 red (or any color you choose) pipe cleaners and 1 green pipe cleaner. Make a small loop in one red pipe cleaner and twist.

Glittery Snowflake
I don't have any pictures of this simple craft project because the ones from our tree have been put away and the others have already been given as gifts.
We took four craft sticks and glued them in a snowflake pattern. Then we painted the with glue and sprinkled it with glitter. I hot glued a wire hanger to the back when they were dry. They look beautiful hanging on the tree. Lovey likes that he could make them. I will try to find some pictures.

Angel ornament
Glue gun, acrylic paint, four year old.
I think I might be slightly insane.
I thought Lovey should make the gifts for his godparents, grandparents, and teachers. So instead of doing what I originally planned with the many baby food jars under my sink, I thought of doing a project that I used to do when I taught fourth grade. That should have been my first clue that I was going crazy.
Now even with fourth graders I was slightly crazy to do it and maybe with the present I should have included the following note:
Merry Christmas - Hope you enjoy the angel ornament. You might need to shop at the uniform store over vacation because we got acrylic paint on your child's shirt/jumper/sweater. Oops, sorry. Oh and the burned fingers should heal before we return to school, so your child will still be able to hold a pencil and do their work. Again Merry Christmas!
Actually I used the glue gun, so there were not any burned fingers and miraculously no one painted their uniforms.
Lovey did really well too. He painted the ornaments and I did all of the gluing. Now he can't wait to give them.
