The upstairs is finished, except for a few pieces in my closet and the transitions. The front room in nearly finished. We just need to finish where it connects to the dining room and that is what we were going to do today until...

everything came to a screeching halt.

Okay, so not a complete stand still, but we are moving so s.l.o.w.l.y. Yikes!

Under the old laminate is particle board that has to come up. The particle board has been stapled every four inches. The only way to pull up the staples (that we have found) is with pliers and it takes forever.

Yes, all of those little things are staples. And there is more particle board to scrape up. Hooray!

Evil staples.

We worked (okay, so mostly it was Big Daddy) for 2 hours and still only finished a 2 foot by 3 foot space.
